Adam Bishop is senior vice president of Hunt Oil Company's exploration groups, responsible for domestic and international growth initiatives. He was formerly senior vice president for the Western & Appalachian Regions in the United States, managing the company's development and production operations in the Williston & other region basins.
He was also formerly vice president of new play development in the U.S. after serving as exploration manager, U.S. onshore, and worked to advance the company's growth initiatives both in new basins and within existing core operating regions and assets.
Before joining Hunt in 2008, Bishop worked in a variety of exploration assignments in the Gulf of Mexico for Nexen and Shell exploration and production with an emphasis on deep-water and sub-salt prospect generation, capture, testing, and appraisal. He started his career in international exploration and production for Triton Energy, working numerous exploration and development production projects, principally in South America and Austral-Asia.
His membership in professional organizations includes the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Bishop earned a bachelor of science in geoscience from the University of Texas at Dallas and a master of science with distinction in basin evolution and dynamics from the Royal Holloway University of London.
